Terms of Use
Read the OSFILE terms for using printer guides, model pages, service-tool downloads, file requests and troubleshooting information.
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These Terms of Use apply to your use of OSFILE and the content available through osfile.co.uk. By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly.
1. Purpose of the site
OSFILE is a printer tools and technical-reference library. It provides model pages, compatibility notes, troubleshooting guides, file-request tools and, where available, downloadable service utilities. The site is intended to help users identify the correct resource for an exact printer model; it is not a substitute for manufacturer service documentation or professional repair where physical work is required.
2. Model and software responsibility
You are responsible for confirming the exact printer model, regional variant, operating environment and service function before using any utility. A similar model name, similar appearance or shared printer family does not prove compatibility.
3. Downloads
Files may be provided in compressed archives and may include older software. Scan downloads, verify integrity information when available, keep security software enabled, and do not run a file if its internal model information does not match the page. OSFILE may change, replace, disable or remove a file when accuracy, safety or licensing concerns arise.
4. Service and maintenance
A software reset does not physically clean or replace an ink absorber, maintenance box, pump, printhead, sensor or mechanical component. Follow the physical maintenance procedure appropriate to the exact printer. Stop using service software if the printer leaks ink, makes abnormal mechanical noise, shows a hardware fault, or behaves unpredictably.
5. File requests and submissions
When submitting a file request, provide accurate model and troubleshooting information. Do not use forms to send malware, spam, illegal content, passwords, private documents or third-party confidential information. OSFILE may reject or remove abusive submissions.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to compromise the site, bypass security controls or abuse signed download links.
- Do not scrape, overload or automate requests in a way that disrupts other users.
- Do not misrepresent OSFILE content as official manufacturer support.
- Do not use the site or files to violate software licences, copyright or applicable law.
7. Intellectual property and third-party names
OSFILE's original site design, written guides and organisation of the library are protected by applicable intellectual-property rules. Printer manufacturer names and product names belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and compatibility reference.
8. Third-party services
The site may use hosting, analytics, consent, advertising or other third-party services. Those services can have separate terms and privacy rules. External links are provided for convenience and do not make OSFILE responsible for third-party content.
9. Availability
OSFILE does not guarantee that every model page will always have a file, that every utility will work on every computer, or that the site will be uninterrupted. A page may remain available while a file is being verified or prepared so users can request the exact resource instead of using an unsafe substitute.
10. Changes
These terms may be updated as the library, legal requirements or site functionality changes. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from the date shown above.
