Printer Offline: USB and Wi‑Fi Checks
Restore a normal Windows connection first, then use service software only after the printer is online and stable.
Common symptoms
Windows shows the printer as Offline or Unavailable.
Jobs stay in the queue and do not print.
The printer disappears after a router, cable, or computer change.
What to do
- 1
Power-cycle the printer and confirm it finishes startup without another error.
- 2
For USB, reconnect the cable directly and confirm the printer appears in Windows Printers & scanners.
- 3
For Wi‑Fi, confirm the printer and computer are on the expected network and the printer has a valid connection.
- 4
Clear stuck print jobs and make sure “Use Printer Offline” is not enabled.
- 5
For adjustment/service utilities, prefer the connection method required by the exact program—many service utilities require USB even when normal printing works over Wi‑Fi.
Check the exact printer model
Open the model library before downloading or running service software. Compatibility can differ between nearby model numbers and regional variants.
